LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Some 186 individuals from the different municipalities in Benguet have received financial assistance anew from the provincial government headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas.
The release of the cash aid totaling PhP 1,740,000.00 was spearheaded by the Office of the Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) headed by Acting OPSWD Officer Melba Motio. Motio said the assistance is part of the Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the provincial government which aims to help indigent families with medical and burial expenses.
Further, Motio thanked Governor Diclas for supporting the program and for initiating the increase of cash aid for individuals undergoing dialysis, chemotherapy, and heart operations.
On the other note, Governor Diclas said the Provincial LGU will exhaust funds available for this program to provide for the needs of the vulnerable sector, adding people in need may also go to the Office of Congressman Eric Yap as they are working together for this purpose.
