LUNA, Apayao – One hundred ninety-two residents in barangays Balluyan and Malayugan in the town of Flora benefited from free eye care services on Dec. 10, the recent recipients of Project Butsy through the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
Among said beneficiaries, 82 received free eye consultations, 83 received medical check-ups, and 27 were served with dental services led by Flora District Hospital Chief Dr. Amyliza Maruquin and FDH Dentist Dr. Frances Lyka Abian.
In an interview, beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the program, saying Project Butsy became instrumental in enhancing their health and raising awareness on the significance of regular health check-ups.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mark Joleen M. Calban represented by Medical Officer Dr. Searle De San Jose underscored that Project Busty’s objective has always been bringing healthcare directly to the needy communities, adding that the outreach program is centered on bridging the gaps in healthcare services enhancing the health literacy of the residents, especially those members of the underprivileged.
“Today’s Project Butsy not only highlights the commitment of our health care providers to serve but also it emphasizes the importance of preventive care and early intervention in eye health and overall well-being of our fellow yApayaos,” she said.
As Project Butsy continues its mission to serve all yApayaos across the province, it serves as a reminder of the dedication of healthcare providers to improve the lives of individuals in underserved areas.
