City officials recently congratulated and commended Atty. Anthony Mark Dulawan Emocling of the University of Baguio (UB) for passing the 2022 bar examinations and for being the first visually impaired bar passer in the country.
In a resolution, city legislators stated that Atty. Emocling’s feat and achievement will surely inspire and motivate everyone and will also serve as a reminder for the country’s educational system that they should aggressively promote inclusiveness in the implementation of the educational programs.
Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) announced that some 3,992 out of 9,183 examinees or 43.47 percent successfully passed the November 2022 bar examinations or the licensure examination for lawyers that was conducted in various testing centers around the country.
The 2022 bar examinations was conducted last November 9, 13, 16 and 20, 2022 in selected testing centers.
Atty. Emocling, a visually impaired resident of the city and a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science of UB, was one of the examinees in the last bar examination.
Further, Emocling, also an alumnus of the UB School of Law, passed the 2022 bar examination thereby making him the first visually impaired person to become a full fledged lawyer.
The council stipulated that the newly minted UB School of Law alumnus who had overcome the different set of challenges in his life recently became the country’s first visually impaired bar passer in the exam’s more than a century of history.
