TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Two suspected drug couriers were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found from the possession of one of them shabu and assorted illegal drug paraphernalia during a checkpoint operation at Ipil, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Victor Wanchakan, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested drug couriers as Marishi Yapit Padilla, 35, single, unemployed, native of Pandacan, Metro Manila, and a resident of Purok 4, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, and Efraim Batalao Gayawet, 32, single, native of Galdang, Pasil, Kalinga, and a resident of Purok 1, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Confiscated from Padilla were one red and black leather coin purse containing one medium heat sealed transparent plastic sachet with white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, two aluminum foils, three opened small transparent sachets with traces of white substance suspected to be traces of shabu; one Sony Ericsson cellphone, and P100.00 cash while no drug evidence was recovered from Gayawet.
The duo were brought to the Tabuk City Police Office for documentation prior to the filing of appropriate charges against them before the city prosecutor’s office.
