LAMUT, Ifugao – Two Bulacan-based students were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found in their possession over P2.5 million worth of dried marijuana leaves while on board a Manila-bound passenger bus during a police checkpoint at Poblacion East, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the arrested drug couriers as Christian Orindain Quintos, 21, single, student and Paul Andrei Bernabe Galvez, 24, single, student and both residents of Malolos, Bulacan on board a Coda Lines bus from Mountain Province bound to Manila.
Confiscated from the actual possession of the arrested suspected drug couriers were 1 orange Under Armor backpack containing the following, one tooter with Marijuana leaves, 1 transparent plastic containing Marijuana dried leaves with seeds, 1 red the North Face travelling bag containing one plastic cellophane containing the following: Marijuana bricks wrapped with brown masking tape containing dried marijuana leaves, marijuana bricks wrapped with cling wrapper, 1 plastic cellophane with striped red and white containing elongated wrapped clings containing dried Marijuana leaves, one black The North Face backpack containing the followings: Marijuana bricks wrapped with brown masking tape containing dried Marijuana leaves Marijuana bricks wrapped with cling wrapper containing Marijuana leaves and 1 green/black sling bag containing one tooter.
The arrested drug couriers were arrested by the government operatives during a police checkpoint on board a Manila-bound passenger bus that came from Sagada, Mountain Province.
The arrested individuals and the pieces of evidence were brought to the Lamut Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of the charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against them.
