2 persons died while another was injured after a mini-truck fell on a 100-meter-deep ravine along Kennon road particularly sitio Maramal, Camp 5, Barangay Camp 4 – Camp 6, here, today.
Police authorities identified the fatalities as Michael Gayob Mader-an, 46, driver, and James Liwan Wagne, 31, both residents of NHA Upper Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet.
The injured individual is a 49-year-old male, a resident of the same place.
Probers said that the 3 individuals were on-board the truck bound for La Union when it suffered from mechanical trouble that caused the driver to lose control of it until it flung into the ravine.
Combined police personnel and emergency responders were able to recover the 3 unconscious individuals from the submerged vehicle and rush them to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for medical treatment.
However, Mader-an and Wagne died while undergoing close medical supervision.
Their injured companion is now in a stable condition.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by personnel of Tuba Municipal Police Station. By Dexter A. See
