PIDIGAN, Abra – Two people, including a 10year old girl, died after the motorcycle collided head on with a van along the Abra-Ilocos Norte road, particularly at barangay Pamutic here Sunday morning.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the fatalities as Efren Benebese Bulda, 55, married, contractor, with his backrider identified as Vanessa Ubay Bulda, 10, Grade 5 student, both residents of barangay Bacsil Angad, Bangued, Abra.
Initial pólice investtigation showed that the victims were on board their motorcycle and heading towards Ilocos Sur when it accidentally collided with a van driven by Abel Dinola Aljisera, 22, who hails from Bacuit Norte, Bauang, La Union, that tried to overtake a slow-moving truck in front.
Because of the impact of the collision, the victims were thrown off their vehicle and banged their bodies on the concrete pavement thereby inflicting serios injuries on the different parts of their bodies.
The victims were rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital but they later expired due to multiple severe injures while the driver of the van was taken by responding pólice operatives into custody awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against them before the Abra provincial pólice office.
