CONNER, Apayao – A barangay kagawad and a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) died after their motorcycle collided head on with a 10-wheeler truck along the national highway at sitio Mayogyogm barangay Calafug, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the fatalities as Donald Cammatan Bagsao, 31, married, barangay Kagawad with his back ride Frederick Cammatan Bagsao, 43, single, CAFGU member both residents of barangay Sacpil, Conner, Apayao while he named the suspect as Franklin Agustin Bueno, 36, driver of the 10-wheeler truck, married and resident of barangay Fugo, Tuao, Cagayan.
Initial police investigation showed that the victims were on board a motorcycle traversing the said road when it accidentally collided head on with the 10-wheeler truck that came from the opposite direction.
Because of the impact of the collision, the victims were thrown off their vehicle and banged their heads and bodies on the concrete pavement that inflicted multiple injuries on them.
The victims were rushed to the Conner District Hospital for medical treatment but they were pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect was brought to the Conner Municipal Police Station for the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
