BONTOC, Mountain Province – Two separate search warrant operations were conducted by the law enforcement agencies of the province which led to the arrest of two drug suspects on September 3, 2024.
The successful operations were conducted at separate areas in Barangay Poblacion in the capital town through the joint efforts of operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Mountain Province Provincial Police Office Regional Intelligence Division, 1502nd Regional Mobile Force-15 Battalion and the Municipal Police Station.
Based on the Certificate/Receipt of Inventory of Seized/Confiscated Evidence signed by the seizing officer and witnesses from the Poblacion barangay officials and Provincial Information Office, the first area yielded transparent plastic sachets which tested positive with the presence of methamphetamine hydrochloride while the second area of operation resulted in suspected shabu with an estimated market value of PhP45,220.
Moreover, other non-drug evidence such as lighters, improvised tooters, rolled and folded strips of aluminum foil were also seized.
The suspects were taken in for drug testing and will be facing charges in violation of Sections 11 and 12 of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 also known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Section 28 of RA 10591 otherwise known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
