BAGUIO CITY – Two persons were injured after they were fired upon by still unidentified assailant while they were walking along Hilltop Road ,HERE, Thursday night.
Police authorities identified the wounded individuals as Arison Balao-as Acob, 25, married, vendor/masseur; and Joshua Biñas Surat, 24, single, both residents of No. 257 Balsigan, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the two victims came from an establishment and were walking along Hilltop Road when they were provoked by a group of male persons to a fight but they ignored such provocation.
Upon reaching a portion of the road, a stull unidentified gunman, who was wearing a black cap, black leather jacket, maong pants and 5 feet and 5 inches in height, suddenly aimed his undisclosed firearm at them and fired the gun twice hitting Acob on his left thigh and Surat on his left waistline before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victims were immediately rushed by concerned citizens to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medication but Acob was discharged after treatment while Surat was admitted for further observation.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene two spent shells and a fired bullet of a still undetermined type of firearm used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
The case is still subject to further investigation to ascertain the motive of the crime.
