TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Two persons are now in critical condition after they were fired upon by two still unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men in front of a store at Bunaguen St., Casigayan, here, Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Victor Wanchakan, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the victims as Jaypee Lagon Polig, 32, married, and Liza Pia Aggayaban Gunday, 18, both residents of Bunaguen St., Casigayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that Polig, together with four other companions, were supposed to have a drinking spree in front of a store when two motorcycle-riding armed men suddenly arrived in the area with the back rider firing at him several times.
Gunday, who was inside the store, was hit by a stray bullet that came from the firearms of the suspects.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene seven spent shells and two deformed slugs of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
Probers are still ascertaining the motive of the suspects in the shooting of the victims.
