TUBA, Benguet October 18 – Two people died while another was injured after a 10wheeler truck that suffered mechanical trouble rammed into a tree along Marcos highway, particularly at Taloy Sur, here, Monday night.
Chief Inspector Jim Hilario, chief of the Tuba Municipal Police Station, identified the fatalities as Noel Manamban Camata, 48, married and a resident of Bambang, Pasig City and Darwin Buran Reantaso, 36, single, a resident of Guiguinto, Bulacan while the injured truck occupant was named as Percival Broldial Colorico, 38, married, entrepreneur a resident of Pasig City.
Another truck occupant, Carlos Sawa Perez, 51, married and a residents of Mercedez Extension Village, San Miguel, Pasaig City, was unhurt in the said incident.
Initial police investigation showed the 10-wheeler truck was travelling along Marcos highway when it suddenly suffered mechanical trouble and lost its brakes, was outbalanced and slide along the road until it bumped into a tree that pinned down the two fatalities.
The fatalities were extricated from the ruins of the truck at least four hours after the incident causing attending physicians to declare them dead on arrival at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).
The cadavers of the victims were brought to a Baguio-based funeral parlor awaiting the arrival of their relatives to claim their bodies for them to be given the proper wake in their respective homes.
