PUDTOL, Apayao – A 25-year old housewife and her father were killed while two others were reportedly injured when her husband went into a stabbing spree during a drinking session inside their residence at Amado here Tuesday dawn.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apatyao Provincial Police Office, identified the victims as Claribel Singco Gonzales, 25, housewife and Edgar B. Singco Sr. and those injured were named as Agustina Labicani Singco, parents-in-law of the suspect; Edgar Singco Jr. of legal age, all residents of Amado, Pudtol, Apayao and Aldrin Amus Putac aka Bodi, 34
On the other hand, the suspect was identified as Mario Guerrero Gonzales, 31, and a resident of San Jose, Pudtol, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the suspect and the victims had a drinking spree inside their residence when a heated altercation suddenly erupted between him and his wife until their companions decided to intervene.
Instead of heeding the call of the victims to calm down, the suspect suddenly took a knife and went on to a stabbing spree that inflicted injures to the said individuals.
The victims were rushed to the local hospital But Singko died while undergoing medical treatment.
The other victims were subsequently referred to the Far North General Hospital and Training Center for further medical treatment but Ms. Gonzales was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect was immediately collared by responding police operatives during a follow-up operation and the firearm used was recovered.
The suspect is now detained at the Pudtol Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of appropriate charges against him.
