DOLORES, Abra – A 65-year old barangay kagawad and an employee of the Abra Electric Cooperative (ABRECO) died after they were reportedly fired upon by still unidentified gun-wielding individuals while they were having dinner outside their residence at sitio Abagatan, barangay Cardona, here, Friday night.
Police authorities identified the fatalities as barangay kagawad Fermin Pilor, Jr., 65 and Romualdo Amano, an employee of ABRECO and both residents of sitio Abagatan, barangay Cardona, Dolores, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victims, together with Pilor’s wife and son, were having dinner outside their residence when the gun-wielding individuals suddenly appeared and repeatedly fired at them until they were sprawled bloodied on the ground.
Concerned residents immediately reported the aforesaid incident to the Dolores Municipal Police office who are now conducting hot pursuit operation against the suspects who reportedly fled towards an undisclosed direction while the victims were rushed to the nearest health facility but they were declared dead on arrival primarily due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies.
Probers are still ascertaining the identities of the gunmen and the motive for the brutal murder of the 2 individuals who were imply having dinner with their families at the time of the incident.
