TUBA, Benguet – A motorcycle rider and his back rider died after their motorcycle collided head on with a truck coming from the opposite direction along Marcos highway, particularly at Badioan, Poblacion, here, Wednesday afternoon.
However, the identities of the casualties have yet to be released by the police authorities until their families are informed of what happened to them.
Initial police investigation showed that the victims were on board a motorcycle that allegedly collided head on with a truck that came from the opposite direction that caused them to be thrown of their vehicle.
The victims were immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but they were pronounced dead on arrival because of the fatal head and body injuries that they sustained as a result of the aforesaid collision.
Probers are still conducting an investigation on the cause of the accident although initial video footages taken by individuals who saw the incident showed that the motorcycle was in full speed causing the driver to lose control of the same that led to the collision of the said truck.
The truck driver was taken by the police authorities for temporary custody while his truck was also impounded awaiting the results of the investigation of the said case. By Dexter A. See
