LUNA, Apayao – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Apayao has launched a four-day Youth Entrepreneurship Program (You Can Be Your Own Boss Training Workshop) on July 23-26 at the Apayao State College (ASC) in San Isidro, Luna, Apayao.
Twenty DTI Apayao mentees engaged in activities such as Design Thinking and Problem Solving, Empathy Mapping, the 4Ps of Marketing, creating a Marketing Plan, and the BEST Game. The participants were divided into groups to explore their clients’ potential thoughts and impressions of their products or services, with their findings presented to facilitators for evaluation.
DTI Apayao Provincial Director Engr. Wena M. Buston encouraged the participants to believe in themselves, trust their abilities, and strive for excellence. She congratulated everyone who took on the challenge, emphasizing that “collaboration and teamwork are key ingredients for success in the business world.”
The Youth Entrepreneurship Program is a targeted initiative by DTI to empower the country’s young demographics through entrepreneurship. It helps young Filipinos develop their entrepreneurial skills by offering a comprehensive package of interventions.
In 2022, the YEP program was enhanced with the project MARITES, initiated by the Commission on Higher Education. MARITES stands for Mobilizing Available Resources through Inclusive Training on Entrepreneurship of Student-Grantees, further supporting young entrepreneurs in their journey. By Loremia Pareja
