LUNA, Apayao – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), headed by Regional Director Martel R. Dasayon together with the OWWA Apayao, successfully conducted a two-day calamity relief operation in the Municipality of Flora, Luna, Pudtol and Santa Marcela on November 16-17, 2024.
This is part of the aid being provided by the agency to Overseas Filipino Workers. The relief comes to help typhoon affected families as they recover from the destruction which the series of storms brought to parts of Northern Luzon.
To distribute the relief assistance, the OWWA Cordillera utilized their Ayos Truck in delivering relief assistance. This ensures that the aid will reach far-flung affected communities quickly and efficiently.
During the distribution of aid, qualified beneficiaries brought copies of their Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) passport, valid identification cards of claimants, and photocopy of proof of relationship to the OFW like birth certificate.
Over 2,000 OFW dependents affected by typhoon Marce received relief assistance, medical assistance and vitamins from OWWA-CAR.
Angelica Rabano from Balluyan, Flora Apayao expressed thanks to the OWWA for the assistance given to her family.
“Maraming salamat po sa calamity relief na ipinamahagi niyo po sa amin, malaking tulong na po ito,’’ said Angelica while showing joy for the help provided.
According to the Regional Director, Martel R. Dasayon, this initiative is part of OWWA’s commitment to support OFWs and their families during crises and that through this relief operation, they can show their appreciation to OWWA members. By Loremia Pareja
