LUNA, Apayao – The Department of Agrarian Reform- Apayao in collaboration with the Cooperative Department Authority (CDA) or Securities and Exchange Commission- Regional Office implemented a two- day DAR-SEC Orientation Workshop on Registration of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBOs) earlier today August 28-29,2024 held at Aliwa Gymnasium.
As of August 2024, out of 45 organized ARBOs in the province of Apayao 22 are DOLE Accredited. Hence, there is a need to conduct an orientation on how to facilitate the compliance of ARVBD Directives on how to register with registering agencies particularly the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Some unregistered ARBOs in the province actively participated in the training workshop. After the training workshop the unregistered ARBOs are mandated to register.
With the training, it is expected that the income of ARBOs working will become better.
During the training workshop, the importance of cooperatives as a transformative force, empowering individuals and playing a crucial role in the province and community, has been emphasized.
Engaging ARBs in cooperatives, according to CDA, not only empowers individuals but also contributes significantly to the successful operation of cooperatives.
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) plays a supportive role in assisting ARBOs in their transformation into sustainable cooperatives.
By partnering with Cooperative Department Authority (CDA) or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) creates a synergistic environment that uplifts the lives of agrarian reform beneficiaries and promotes cooperative growth, contributing to the overall development and empowerment of the community.
