LUNA, Apayao – A total of 220 select pupils from three schools in Apayao received school supplies on July 26, 2024.
Board Member Kyle Mariah Chelsea Bulut-Cunan, Provincial Administrator Atty. Edmar Pascua, and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President (SKFP) Hanz Gerald Palacay led the said distribution event.
San Juan Elementary School and Consuelo Elementary School, both in Santa Marcela had 54 and 130 pupils respectively, while Lydia Elementary School in Pudtol had 36 pupils, all receiving plastic envelopes with notebook, ballpens, scissors, pad paper, as well as umbrellas, tumblers, and 10 reams of bond paper per school.
This distribution was made possible through the partnership of the provincial government and the Dayag ti Apayao 2024 Miss Lei Gertrude Ravelo and her project Dayag Lei: Dynamic Advocacy For Youth Advancement, Growth, Leadership, and Empowerment through Innovative EKB Approaches.
“Daytoy nga activity, we recognize that every child, every student, regardless nu ayan naggapwan na, deserves an equal chance to excel academically,” said Board Member Bulut-Cunan.
“Daytoy nga panag-awat mi kanyayo iti school supplies ket simbolo iti suporta ken ayat iti provincial government of Apayao ken iti Dayag ken Taer ti Apayao 2024 iti arapaap yu iti biag. Sa bawat lapis, sa bawat school supplies na naibibigay po namin sa inyo, may pag-asa at pangarap na nabubuo,” she added.
Department of Education recently announced that they will revert to the old calendar and that schools will open July 29. “Through this initiative, sigurado nga sumrek iti estudyante tayo nga ready ken confident for the new school year,” Bulut-Cunan likewise stated.
Tagging along in the distribution were Taer ken Dayag Ti Apayao 2024 title holders, Ms. Lei Gertrude Ravelo, and Mr. John Patrick Peña. Also with them were Taer ti Santa Marcela Mr. John Kenneth Yadao, and Former SKFP Engr. Wenz Nathaly Alferez. By Leriza Anne Cariaga
