Cacdac, Jr. said that the training is intended to provide exposure to PDEA agents with the competencies associated with examination, collection and analyzing drug intelligence information extracted from seized mobile devices such as cellular phones, tablets and laptops, utilizing the software “Cellebrite”.
Cellebrite specializes in data extraction, transfer and analysis devices for cellular phones and mobile devices, to unlock key evidence of mobile forensic data hence, accelerate investigations and bring cases to successful conclusions.
“From February 1 to 3, 2016, 24 PDEA operatives from PDEA-Special Enforcement Service (PDEA-SES) and all 18 PDEA Regional Offices nationwide have participated in the specialized intelligence training at the United States (US) Embassy, Seafront Facility located in Pasay City,” Cacdac said.
“Through this training, our DEOs will equip themselves the necessary skills to collect incriminating evidence extracted from confiscated mobile devices during anti-drug operations- one way to reach the command and control structure of entrenched drug syndicates”, Cacdac added.
