LUNA, Apayao – A total of 2,465 yApayaos from the municipalities of Conner, Pudtol, and Luna received compensation for their labor through the Cash-for-Work program of the Social Welfare and Development Office – Apayao (SWAD).
This program intends to aid families and individuals for their basic needs and other expenses by providing work through which they will get paid.
An aggregate amount of 9.8 million pesos has been allocated for disbursement among the beneficiaries. Each recipient entered into a ten-day employment agreement, receiving a daily wage of 400 pesos.
According to SWAD’s data, the breakdown of recipients in each respective municipality is as follows: Conner – 413, Pudtol – 928, and Luna – 1,065.
These individuals are beneficiaries of the Risk Resiliency Program on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM-DRR) through the cash-for-work modality. Beneficiaries were engaged in specific tasks and projects, including tree planting and sowing Drought Resistant Seeds/Propagules in communal gardens across various locations.
The SWAD team has already disbursed cash compensation to all the recipients on October 17-20.
