LUNA, Apayao – The provincial government supported to 250 bedridden senior citizens across Luna, Flora, Pudtol, and Santa Marcela through a house-to-house distribution conducted by the Provincial Social and Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) on July 4-5, 2024 where beneficiaries received essential items to improve their quality of life.
Each beneficiary received a Senior Citizen Pack that included one kilogram (kg) of oatmeal, 700 grams of adult powdered milk, one kg of powdered chocolate drink, 10 medium-sized adult diapers, and a large plastic bag. The total value of these supplies amounted to PhP 346,350.
For many of these seniors, who subsist on an average monthly grant of PhP500 from government social security, accessing sufficient food and affording necessities are significant challenges. The assistance directly addresses these critical needs, ensuring that the most vulnerable members of the community receive the support they require.
Program focal person Ms. Leeshel U. Lopez, announced that the distribution of Dagdag Assistance for the remaining elderly clients in Upper Apayao is scheduled for next week. By Michelle Acantilado
