TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan—Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI CIDSS) PAMANA has reported the 27 various projects that were completed this year with a total amount of PhP26.4 million.
According to Area Coordinator Chan Keith Patongao of the DSWD, the funding of the projects came from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) lodged with the DSWD with counterparts from the city government and barangay governments.
According to Patongao, seven farm-to-market roads in the barangays of Amlao, Calaccad, Calanan, Cudal, Lacnog, Lucog, and Bulanao Centro have been completed. In Brgy. Agbannawag, Bagumbayan, and Nambucayan, three daycare facilities were built. Similarly, the improvement of two daycare facilities in Brgy. Ipil and five sitios in Nambaran completed.
In the barangays of New Tanglag, Naneng, Gobgob, and Agbannawag, four waterwork projects were completed.
Two recently built drainage canals could be found in Guilayon and Bulo. In Dupag, a drainage canal with slope protection was finished.
Other accomplishments include the construction of a multipurpose building in San Juan and the construction of a barangay health center in Lacnog West; and a perimeter fence in Basao Elementary School in Dilag.
For 2024, Patongao added that there are 6 projects under implementation in the priority barangays, with a total amount of PhP13.2 million.
The projects include the construction of a footbridge in Dupag worth PhP4.9 million, a barangay health center in New Tanglag worth around 2 million, a barangay health center in Magnao worth PhP2.2 million; daycare centers in Lacnog West worth PhP1.8 million and in Lucog worth PhP1.1 million respectively; and the construction of drying pavement worth PhP1.1 million in Gobgob.
In addition, Patongao commended the barangay governments and officials of the city government for their support to the infrastructure projects in Tabuk. By Ian Addatu
