TABUK CITY, Kalinga. – A total of 277 indigent senior citizens who are sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare and Development received their first semester social pension today, March 28.
The senior citizens who each received P3,000 covering the period January to June 2023 came from Barangay Bulo.
To claim their pension, a photocopy of their senior citizen ID must be presented, and they must ensure the strict adherence to health and safety protocols during the pay-out.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs announced earlier that needy senior citizens who are not yet covered by the program may still apply at their office by presenting the following documents: certificate of indigency and a valid ID ; and they need to undergo an interview as the basis of determining their eligibility to the program.
Social pensioners under the city government are also scheduled to get their cash assistance soon.
The Social Pension is an local government assistance program providing monthly stipend amounting to P500.00 to indigent senior citizens in the city.
