BONTOC, Mountain Province – A total of 282 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) workers program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in collaboration with the Bontoc Local Government (LGU), have received their wages on August 19, 2024.
Each beneficiary received a total of ₱6,450 as compensation for 15 days of work at ₱430 per day.
It is to be noted that this batch of TUPAD beneficiaries is funded under the regular fund of DOLE which is downloaded to the Bontoc LGU in response to Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong Jr’s request for funding.
Department of Labor and Employment – Mountain Province Field Office (DOLE-MPFO) Provincial Director George Lubin, Jr., stressed the importance of community collaboration in advancing sustainable development initiatives across the province.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tudlong expressed his gratitude to DOLE for its continued support in providing employment opportunities to the residents of Bontoc.
“We are deeply thankful to the DOLE for making the TUPAD program accessible to our community. This initiative provides more than just temporary employment; it is a lifeline for many of our residents facing economic hardships. Our partnership with DOLE shows the power of collaboration in uplifting the lives of those we serve,” Tudlong added.
Further, a beneficiary expressed her utmost gratitude to the DOLE and the Bontoc LGU for their invaluable support. She acknowledged how the assistance provided has significantly impacted her life and the lives of others in her community.
