LUBUAGAN, Kalinga October 31 – Three alleged marijuana couriers were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after they were found to be illegally transporting over P24.4 million worth of marijuana in a police checkpoint here recently.
Police authorities identified the arrested marijuana couriers as Raechelle Kitongan Canao, 29; Augusto Binuloc Gunnawa, 38; and Arnel Langao Wadwad, 26.
Personnel of the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) received an information that a group of individuals will be transporting marijuana products from Tinglayan, Kalinga to Tabuk City.
Acting on the said information, personnel of the 2nd Kalinga PMFC conducted an interdiction operation in Sitio Dinakan, Brgy. Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga that resulted in the confiscation of 204 bricks of suspected marijuana dried leaves and stalks with an estimated weight of 204,000 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 24,480,000; two (2) pieces in tubular forms of suspected marijuana dried leaves and stalks with an estimated weight of 2,000 grams with an SDP of Php 240, 000.00; and two (2) small bottles (60 ml each) containing a total of 120 ml of suspected Marijuana oil with an SDP of P 6,000.00.
The inventory and markings of the pieces of evidence recovered were conducted onsite in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Mr. Reynaldo S Gonzalo, DOJ representative; Ms. Janette Alagao, media representative; and Mr. Rodney Aranca, Barangay Kagawad.
The arrested suspects and the seized pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Lubuagan MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
