The local government recognized three city barangays as recipients of the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards during the awarding ceremony of the Best Performing Barangays held recently. Palma-Urbano heeded by punong barangay Florida Gacayan was adjudged as the champion of this category followed by Abanao-Zandueta-Kayang-Chugum-Otek (AZKCO) barangay headed by punong barangay Jefferson Cheng that landed first runner-up and Loakan Liwanag headed by punong barangay Abraham Urmaza which settled for second runner-up.
The annual recognition of the city’s Best Performing Barangays is an initiative of the city government, Liga ng mga Barangay–Baguio City chapter headed by Councilor Rocky M. Aliping and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Baguio City field office.
The panel of evaluators for the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards are Councilor Rocky Aliping, DILG City Director Millicent Carino, Atty. Bernard Allan Angeles of the City Prosecutor’s office, Integrated Bar of the Philippines Baguio-Benguet chapter president Atty. Jose Mari Molintas, Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) City Director Police Col. Ruel Tagel, Police Capt.
