BONTOC, Mountain Province – Three construction workers were injured after they were buried by debris when the slope of their construction site and buried them at sitio Finew, Samoki, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the victims as Nestor Magkachi Manochon,60, married, laborer and a resident of Foyayeng, Bontoc Ili, Bontoc; Calsiman Chonchonen Ofo-ob, 19, single, laborer and a resident of Samoki, Bontoc and James Fomocao Challoy, 52, married, laborer and a resident of Samoki, Bontoc.
Initial police investigation showed the victims were working on the footing of their construction site when the slope above suddenly collapsed and covered them.
Rescuers immediately responded to the accident scene and were able to extricate the victims and rushed them to the Bontoc General Hospital for medical treatment.
Ofo-ob was confined in Bontoc while his two companions were referred to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for further medical treatment.
