CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – As the results of the series of negotiations initiated by Cordillera police, another three Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG) members voluntarily surrendered to the authorities on May 4 and 5, 2021.
Based from the reports received by PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, operatives have conducted continuous intelligence driven operations and series of negotiations that led to the voluntary surrender of 3 CTG members.
On May 4, in Labaan, Paco, Lepanto, Mankayan, Benguet, a 62-year-old farmer, identified as a Militia ng Bayan member under Squad Lamay KLG AMPIS-ICRC, voluntarily turned himself to the authorities. According to the operatives, the surrenderee went underground for several years and was a member of a Communist Front Organization of the NPA that operates in Mankayan and adjacent municipalities.
Meanwhile on May 5, another Militia ng Bayan member under KLG AMPIS-ICRC voluntarily surrendered in Camp Major Dennis Molintas, Bangao, Buguias, Benguet. The surrenderee is a 57-year-old Barangay Kagawad. Accordingly, the surrenderee joined the underground movement before being elected as a barangay official.
Furthermore, on the same day, a 26-year-old identified as a squad leader of Squad Uno of Platoon WILLIAM/LPC voluntarily surrendered to the authorities in Tadian, Mountain Province.
Along with his surrender, he also turned over to the authorities one (1) Grand Master Caliber .45 pistol loaded with seven (7) live ammos.
As they resurface from the underground movement and return to normal life, they will be processed to avail of the assistance provided by the government under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
The surrenderees are now under the custody of respective units in-charge as they undergo debriefing. (PROCOR RPIO)
