CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union San Fernando City – Two illegal drug pushers were killed in an encounter with policemen in Aingay, La Union while another one was gunned down by vigilantes in Tubao town Friday morning.
Police identified those killed in the encounter as Jerry Austria, number five in the drug watchlist of Caba, La Union while his companion was identified as Benjamin Lucena, a resident of Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
The duo allegedly evaded a checkpoint at around 4:00 a.m. Friday in Caba town and escaped when they were about to be accosted by policemen.
Suspects, who were on board a motorcycle, allegedly fired their guns when they were being chased by policemen.
Chasing operatives allegedly managed to call assistance from the nearby Aringay police station which eventually subdued the suspects by shooting back at them while they were in Barangay Pangao-aoan East.
Police recovered a pistol and several sachets of shabu from the slain suspects who suffered both with multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies.
In Tubao town, Pedro Padilla, also the number five top illegal drug man in the municipality, suffered six gunshot wounds on the different part of his body when he was shot by suspects riding in tandem a motorcycle while walking in Barangay Leones East at around 7:00 a.m. Friday.
Suspects allegedly used calibre 45 in the attack as shown by the empty shells recovered at the crime scene.
