LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents successfully arrested three drug personalities and seized more than P234,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate aggressive anti-illegal drug operations in the different parts of the Cordillera last Monday.
In Baguio City, joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- CAR and Baguio City Police Office arrested a 30-year-old female and a 45-year-old male, both identified as High-Value Individuals after they were caught red-handed selling suspected shabu, totaling approximately 2.5 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P17,000.00, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bakakeng Central. An additional 0.5 grams of shabu with a SDP of P3,400.00 was found on the male suspect during the body search.
Meanwhile, in Pinukpuk, Kalinga, a 47-year-old female identified as a Street Level Individual was apprehended after authorities discovered five sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 2 grams with a SDP of PhP13,600.00 in her residence in Barangay Taggay. The operation was carried out by joint operatives from the different units of Kalinga PPO, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, and PDEA-Kalinga, following a successful search warrant operation.
All arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to their respective operating units for proper disposition and charges for violation of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared against them.
Simultaneously, in Benguet, a marijuana eradication operation led by Benguet PPO, RIU-14, and PDEA-CAR resulted in the discovery of 1,000 fully grown marijuana plants with a SDP of P200,000.00 in Barangay Kayapa, Bakun. After documentation, samples were collected and submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit- CAR for further analysis.
