ABANGAN, Mountain Province– Four people were slightly injured after their commuter van collided with a passenger bus in a sharp curve along the Baguio-Bontoc road, particularly at sitio Calimbong, Poblacion here recently.
Senior Inspector Alyson Kalang-ad, acting chief of the Sabangan Municipal Station, identified the injured van occupants as Atson, Alsado Pataksil, 26, married, driver who hails from Sagubo, Kapangan, Benguet, Joel Gayao, Joel Gayao , Charmie Dalluyon and Rosaline Padyangan Himmoda .
Initial police investigation showed the Baguio-bound van was ascednding along the road when it collided with the left portion of the Bontoc-bound bus driven by Hilario Sanchez Garrino, 35, a native of Remedious, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.
As a result of the collision, the as result, the van had it bumper dented, including its left front door, dash board left tire rim, broken windshield, broken left side mirror and busted stering wheel with undetermined total amount of damages while the Rising Sun bus suffered dented left side running board, dented air pack and dented two premira battery with still undetermined total amount of damages. Both parties agreed to settle the case out of court to avoid the stringent litigation process.
The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were given the appropriate treatment and considering that their injuries were minor, they were able to board a separate van bound for Baguio city on the same day.
