BAGUIO CITY – Some thirty barangays were recently recognized by the city government and the Baguio City Fire Station (BCFS) for having maintained zero fire incidents in their respective areas of jurisdiction over the past five years from 2020 to 2024.
These barangays received from the city government and the Baguio City Fire Station a plaque of recognition commending and recognizing their unwavering and uncompromising efforts to ensure the fire safety readiness of their respective constituents during the said period.
The 30 city barangays with zero fire incidents over the past five years are Alfonso Tabora under the leadership of punong barangay Virginia Pugong, Camp 8 led by punong barangay Lopito Nabukay, City Camp Central headed by punong barangay Jessie Salvador Bandiola, City Camp Proper – punong barangay Jaime Bustarde, DPS Compound – punong barangay Ariel del Monte, East Modernsite – punong barangay Peter Bucasan, Engineers Hill – punong barangay Amado Felizardo, Happy Homes – Old Lucban – punong barangay Eva Marie Fianza, Hillside – punong barangay Allan Bandoy, Holy Ghost Extension – punong barangay Teresa Alitan, Holy Ghost Proper – Murphy Maspil, Sr., Imelda R. Marcos (la Salle) – punong barangay Lucia Dolteo, Lower Dagsian – punong barangay Henry Farnican, Malcom Square – punong barangay Hadjii-Imran Adam Baniaga, North Central Aurora Hill – punong barangay Veronica Castro, Palma-Urbano – punong barangay Florida Gacayan, Pinsao Pilot Project – punong barangay Dexter Fagyan, Poliwes – punong barangay Ronald Saldaen, Rizal Monument area – punong barangay Arnold Francisco Miranda, San Antonio Village – punong barangay Nicanor Nialla, San Roque Village – punong barangay Ernesto Amon, Santa Escolastica – punong barangay Vilma Estepa , Sto. Tomas School Area – punong barangay Lawrence Donato, Scout Barrio – punong barangay Manolo Llaneta, Slaughterhouse Compound – punong barangay Melinda Cabaya, South Central Aurora Hill – punong barangay Levy Lloyd Orcales, Upper Magsaysay – punong barangay Priscilla Dacanay, Upper Rock Quarry – punong barangay Joey David, West Bayan Park – punong barangay Robert de Vera and West Modernsite – punong barangay Rolly Dizon.
These barangays, represented by their respective punong barangays, received their plaque of recognition from BCFS fire marshal Fire Superintendent Mirasol Odiber and city officials led by Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong. By Dexter A. See
