CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – A total of 315 newly appointed policerecruits took their oath at Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) Grandstand on MondayOctober 22, 2018 at 10:00 in the morning.
Police Chief Superintendent Romulo E. Sapitula, Regional Director of PRO1administered their oath of office and congratulated them for passing the rigidscreening process set by the PNP and strictly implemented by the PRO1’s RegionalScreening Committee (RSC).
In his message, PCSupt Sapitula stressed that as police officers, we are expectedto fulfill, protect and respect human rights as we perform our duties – to serve andprotect. Live with the maxim that Police Regional Office 1 is the “Home of theCitizen Friendly Policemen and Protectors of Human Rights.”
“Ang panunumpa ninyo sa inyong kasalukuyang katungkulan ay simula pa lang ngmarami at mas matindi pang pagsubok na inyong kakaharapin bilang alagad ngbatas. Sa unang yugto ng inyong pagiging pulis ay kakailanganin ninyo ang masibayong pagtitiis at pagsasakripisyo higit sa lahat ang mas malakas na pananalig saPanginoon,” PCSupt Sapitula said.
The Regional Director also emphasized to the recruits to maintain great desire andmake every challenge as their inspiration, for hardships are always part of success.It is where you will start creating change – to improve yourself contributes to theimprovement of the whole police organization. Keep in mind that every effort you willdo, every step you make towards being a truly transformed person, leads to a biggerand better change,” he added.
The 315 new police recruits composed of 70 females and 245 males were sent tothe Regional Training Center 1 (RTC 1) in Aringay, La Union to undergo the 6months Public Safety Basic Recruit Course and afterwards the Field TrainingProgram for another 6 months before their actual deployment to the field.
A PO1, the lowest rank in the PNP Organization will be receiving a monthly basic pay of P29,668.00 exclusive of allowances while undergoing training.
