BONTOC, Mountain Province – The provincial government thru its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) sponsored a 15-day Search and Rescue Operation Skills Training for fire fighters in Mountain Province.
The training is being held in the capital town of Bontoc, kicking off on November 11 and will continue until 25th of this month.
Fire Senior Superintendent (FSSupt.) Floyd T. Toyokan, the Assistant Regional Director for Operations of the Cordillera office of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-CAR), on behalf of FSSupt. Robert M. Pacis, the Regional Director of BFP-CAR, explained that the training is crucial for enhancing the emergency response capabilities of the trainees. On top of that, the training also manifests BFP’s shared commitment in improving the safety of those they serve.
Moreover, Toyokan expressed his gratitude to the provincial government for funding the training through its PDRRMO.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the provincial government of Mountain Province and the PDDRMO, which generously sponsored this training. Your unwavering support and commitment to enhancing the BFP’s capabilities as first responders have made this training possible, and we are deeply thankful for your steadfast collaboration,” he said.
Subsequently, Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. pointed out that the training is suitable for the BFP personnel as they are one of the frontline defenders of the community.
“May this training equip you with the knowledge, skills, and strength to face challenging situations. Stay vigilant, stay resilient, and stay committed to your noble mission.
Together, we can build resilient communities, mitigate risks, and ensure a safer Mountain Province. May we stand strong, united, and prepared for a brighter Mountain Province!,” Lacwasan further said as encouragement to the participants.
