FLORA, Apayao – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority- Apayao (TESDA) recently distributed a total of PhP123,200 training allowance to the Special Training on Employment (STEP) scholars under the Raising Organic Hogs and Produce Organic Concoctions and Extract (POCE) & Produce Organic Fertilizer (POF)-Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) NC II.
Thirty-five STEP scholars received their training allowance amounting to PhP160 per day with disbursement occurring in two installments, 50% at the beginning and 50% upon completion of the training.
This training allowance covers the free assessment fee and training cost for their training which consists of 11 days for the POF and 11 days in POCE.
The distribution took place at the barangay Atok, Flora Apayao on August 11, 2024 while the training was conducted by the Flora Agri-Tourism Farm and A & G Training and Assessment Center Inc.
The distribution was spearheaded by Mayor Rodolfo B. Juan, Vice Mayor Jeofrey T. Blas, Sangguniang Bayan Genevive L. Cacacho, Sangguniang Bayan Vic Maruquin, Chona Roque Owner of the Flora Agri-Tourism Farm, Carmelita Del Mundo TESDA representative, Congressional staff and MPS Flora personnel.
The training was funded under the initiative of Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang in partnership with the provincial government and with the implementing office TESDA-Apayao under the STEP, a program which aims to enhance specific needed in the community and promote employment through entrepreneurship, self-employment and service- oriented activities.
