PROCOR’s relentless effort to end illegal drugs in the region resulted in the arrest of four (4) drug personalities (2 High Value Individuals and 2 Street Level Individuals) in separate buy-bust operations conducted in Kalinga, Benguet, and Baguio City on July 26, 2021.
Citing reports submitted to PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, Regional Director, the suspects were identified as Ronnick Caminos Apas aka “Ranran” (HVI), 31; George Jr. Lastimosa Bua-ay aka “Junior” (SLI), 42; Jeffrey Macabangun Calata (SLI), 28; and Jerry Lloyd Peñaranda (HVI), 30.
In Tabuk City, Kalinga, joint personnel of Kalinga PPO, RSOG, RID-PROCOR and RIU 14 arrested Bua-ay after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.1 gram with Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to PHP 680.00 to one of the operating personnel who acted as poseur buyer
Moreover, in the course of his arrest, confiscated from his direct possession is one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu wrapped with One (1) Twenty Peso bill with an estimated weight of 0.1 gram with SDP amounting to PHP 680.00.
In Balsigan, Baguio City, a buy bust operation conducted by joint operatives of Baguio CPO and PDEA resulted in the arrest of Peñaranda after selling a sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.5 gram with SDP amounting to Php 3,400.00 to a cop acting as poseur buyer.
In Quezon Hill Proper, Baguio City, another buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of Baguio CPO resulted in the arrest of Calata after selling two (2) sachets of suspected shabu with estimated total weight of 0.6 gram with SDP amounting to Php 4,080.00 to an operative posting as poseur buyer.
Further, in La Trinidad, Benguet, Apas was arrested by joint operatives of Benguet PPO, RID-PROCOR, PDEA-CAR and PDEG SOU-COR after an operative acting as poseur buyer was able to buy two (2) plastic sachets of suspected “shabu” from him with an estimated total weight of 0.12 gram with SDP amounting to PHP 816.00.
Inventory and marking of the pieces of evidence were conducted onsite while a case for violation of RA9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being prepared for filling in court against the suspects.(PROCOR-PIO)
