LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Four notorious drug traders operating in the different parts of the province were successively arrested by combined police operatives and anti0drug operatives in separate anti-drug operations over the weekend.
Senior Superintendent David Q. Lacdan, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested drug traders as Rocky Calis Bogsit, 34, married, a driver from Madaymen, Kibungan, Benguet and a resident of Tawang, La Trinidad; Credence Ganado Molitas, 29, single, native and residence of Triniville, bahong, La Trinidad, Anthony Eblos Sala-ing, 36, married, mechanic, native of Abatan, Buguias, Benguet and a resident of Shilan, La Trinidad, and Brestler Gamotlong Watawat, 31, also a driver who hilas from Kapangan, Benguet but presently residing at Betag, La Trinidad town.
Initial police investigation showed Bogist and Molitas were nabbed inside the Bakahan eatery in barangay Tawang around 9:30 pm Saturday and seized from their possession were 7 sachets containing suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and several P500 bills used as drug buy-bust money.
Bogsit admitted that the source of the illegal drugs was his brother in-law based at Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Sala-ing seized from him were assorted drug paraphernalia and a Cal. 380 FT made in Italy CAT 6665 with serial number MOD GT 380 with one magazine loaded with seven (7) live ammunitions with no pertinent documents.
Earlier, Watawat was collared by combined police operatives and anti-drug agents in a buy-bust operation Friday afternoon At the Swamp, Km. 6 here.
Confiscated from his possession were Confiscated from his possession were 10 pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or Shabu, Php11, 030.00 Cash, 1 piece coin purse, 1 black wallet, 1unit Arc mobile and 1 unit Samsung cellular phones, 3 pieces of 100 Philippine peso bill (Marked Money), and a black sun glass pouch.
The arrested drug personalities were subsequently detained at the Benguet provincial jail awaiting the filing of charges for violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against them.
