TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Members of the different 4-H organizations in the city competed on Friday, August 19 for this year’s skills and talent contest.
The theme for the said event was “4-H Level Up: Leading Excellence in Agriculture through Viable Innovations, Empowering Leaders and Unleashing 4-H Potential”.
Prior to the contest proper, Enrique Baliang who represented City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, said it is good that the city government through the Office for City Agricultural Services has this kind of program for the youth to showcase their talents and skills in various contested events.
4-H Coordinator Noriebelle Salibad of OfCAS said 4-H as an organization is an opportunity to develop leadership, responsibility and life skills of youth through experiential learning programs and a positive youth development.
The following young people won in their respective events: Jemimah Sagmayao of Pacak-Agbannawag 4-H (quiz bee), Bernalyn Carbonel of Appas 4-H (seeds identification), Noviejane Dalignoc of Greenland 4-H (poster making) and Sunshine Pulido of Appas 4-H (singing).
Giovanni Addatu of Nambucayan 4-H was selected as the regional representative of the city for the impromptu speaking, and Kheinrich Dasayon and Laurenz Raguibao of Lucog 4-H for the promotional video making.
