BAGUIO CITY – About 400 farmers from Benguet and Baguio City have received their fuel assistance through Individual Monitoring Cards (IMC) from the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera (DA-CAR) today, Dec. 6, in Guisad, Baguio City.
DA-CAR Regional Corn Program Coordinator Gerardo Banawa underscored that the fuel assistance is meant for farmers who own or rent agricultural machineries that are used for crop production which are registered to the DA’s Agricultural Biosystems Engineering Management Information System (ABEMIS) and are near to fuel stations.
The IMCs provided to farmers are loaded with Php3, 000.00 intended for fuel exchange in any fuel station with a Point of Sale (POS) machine. This is purely for fuel and not convertible to cash.
At present, a total of 1,928 IMCs are loaded with fuel assistance while 772 are under process. These IMCs are set for distribution until March 2025. Profiling is already being conducted simultaneously to qualified farmers in other provinces as a requirement prior to IMC distribution. By Janice B. Agrifino
