LUNA, Apayao – The Project BUTSY in Apayao, one of Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr.’s priority programs, recently served 455 residents in Barangay Talifugo, Conner on November 21 with a wide range of free healthcare services.
The Provincial Health Office, led by Dr. Mark Joleen Calban, along with Apayao Provincial Hospital, led by Dra. Jarrette Barmejo Agana, spearheaded the delivery of free medical services.
With the implementation of the project in barangay, medical services were given to 122 individuals, circumcision to 11, dental services to 37, provision of fluoride to 150, laboratory services to 27, eye care to 99, and surgery to 9. The residents were likewise given some medicines and vitamins.
During the Project Butsy mission in the area, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) conducted free haircuts, while Board Member Kyle Bulut-Cunan led the distribution of tumblers and school supplies.
Staff from the RMFB 1505th| 98th Infantry B Company, Conner Rural Health Unit, Sangguniang Bayan Jayson Loyon, Atty. Mayor Jorico Bayaua and professional health workers also contributed to the program’s success with their help.
Apayao Public Health Unit Coordinator Irene Agunos-Leguiab promised to other residents of Conner that Project Butsy will continue to work until all places have been visited and supplied.
“Hindi po kami titigil at patuloy nating ihahatid ang libreng serbisyong medikal sa ating mga residenteng nasa malalayong lugar. Lubos po ang aming kasiyahan kapag nakikita po namin kayo na nakangiti at nabibigyan ng mga serbisyo. Kami ay patuloy na mangangalaga at maglilingkod para sa inyong kalusugan at kapakanan,” added Leguiab.
Barangay Captain Primo S. Tacpi, for his part, extended his gratitude to the people who made the project possible.
“Nalaos unay ti panagyaman mi kadagitoy inpa-ay yu nga serbisyo ditoy nanumo a barangay mi ket dakkel a tulong daytoy kadagiti residente ta saanen a masapol ti agbiyahe ti adayo tapno laeng agpacheck-up.
