BAGUIO CITY – Five individuals were arrested by alert law enforcers after receiving a tip of the latter having in their possession alleged illegal firearms recently.
The arrested individuals were identified as Melvin Akisio, 18; Renzo Lucutan, 19; Jomar Domingo, 20; and two other male minors.
Probers disclosed that 5 persons boarder a taxi and instructed the driver to ferry them to camp 6, Tuba, Benguet.
While travelling along the stretch if Kennon Road, the driver heard that one of his passengers seated at the back allegedly cocked a gun that prompted him to make an alibi that the tire of his taxi was running flat which he had to check the same.
The driver pretended to check on the tire that was flat but secretly glanced at the suspect seated at the right portion of the passenger side and confirmed that he was in possession of a gun.
He immediately boarded his vehicle and made a U-turn and proceeded to the existing quarantine control checkpoint and sought the help of the law enforcers on duty that led to the arrest of the suspects. And seizure of one caliber .9mm pistol.
The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the Kennon Road Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
