CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Several wanted persons were collared by alert police operatives during their intensified campaign against criminality regionwide.
As a result, three gamblers were spotted and were caught in the act of playing card games (tong-it) inside Masungad Mini Gallery Souvenir shop at No. 4 Purok 6 Gibraltar barangay’, Baguio City Friday night.
The cooperative personnel of the City Intelligence Unit, and personnel of Police Station 3 of BCPO arrested suspects identified as Rico Calulod Omiliana, 33, vendor, a resident at No. 3 Purok 3, Gibraltar, Baguio City, Froilan Macadaeg Casison, 31, service crew, a resident at No. 5 Navy Base, Baguio City, and Rexton Laga Bacowan, 28, laborer, a resident at No. 121 Camp 7, Baguio City. A case for violation of PD 1602 (Illegal Gambling) was filed against the suspects in court.
Further, three individuals were locked-up in jail for committing various offenses over the weekend.
A foreman was arrested in his office at Prime Peak Subdivision, Purok 8, Dontogan, Baguio City last Saturday morning for raping a teacher inside the victim’s house at Purok 8, Dontogan, Baguio City. Investigation revealed that the suspect identified as Martin Soriano Baldemor, Jr., 38, native of San Antonio, Naguilian, La Union and a resident of Purok 8, Dontogan, Baguio City forcibly raped the victim after the suspect’s girlfriend left to buy food which was requested by the suspect.
Another suspect identified as Mates Sumakey Lasbacan, 28, a resident of Abucot, Laddet, Kabayan, Benguet was arrested in Poblacion, Bokod, Benguet Saturday night for stabbing a high school student minor in the said place. Prior to his arrest, the suspect together with his other companions attacked the victim while walking home with his friends but the victim managed to flee with the help of his friends.
In a separate incident, suspect identified as Mayo Agayao Kidkid, 47, farmer, a resident of Mabileg, Tabio, Mankayan, Benguet was also caught Saturday early morning in Patpat, Tabio, Mankayan, Benguet for stabbing his relative during the death anniversary of their relative. Investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim were having a drinking spree when misunderstanding erupted which resulted to a heated argument prompting the victim to leave the suspect but he chased and stabbed the victim on his abdomen. The victim was rushed at the Lepanto Hospital but later transferred to Luis Hora Hospital in Bauko, Mountain Province for further treatment.
Theft suspect identified as Jerald Pagaspas Tayan, 27, a resident of KM 5, La Trinidad, Benguet was sent to jail after victimizing an intoxicated farmer napping at the jitney terminal in the early morning of December 7, 2015. Police stated that the suspect took advantage of the intoxicated victim lying in a chair and took his wallet but unfortunately, patrolling policemen saw the suspect that led to his arrest and the recovery of the wallet.
