5 hijackers killed in Tuba shootout

TUBA, Benguet – 5 alleged hijackers died after a shootout with pursuing law enforcers at Taloy Sur Proper, here, early Wednesday morning. However, police authorities are still on the process of identifying the slain individuals. Initial police investigation showed that the hijackers allegedly hijacked an aluminium wing van in La Trinidad and were en route to the lowlands, when they were pursued by personnel of the Cordillera Highway Patrol Group and La Trinidad Municipal Police Station. Aside from the hijacked van, the suspects were also on board on a gray SUV. Law enforces engaged the hijackers in a shoot-out in the area until they were all killed. Probers are still conducting an investigation to ascertain the identity of the slain hijackers.
