LUBA, Abra – Five individuals were injured after their vehicle which was loaded with cement lost its brakes and rammed into the left side of a mountain along the Luba-Tubo provincial road, particularly at sitio Ul-uling, Luzong here recently.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provncial Police Office, identified the wounded individuals as Nora Lumadao; Jeoffrey Gulayan Pingian; Editha Ayaba Bakidan; Adelina Yagyag Lumadao; and Teresita Dapiaoen Baydo.
Initial investigation showed that the jeepney where the victims were on board was traversing the aforesaid road when it suddenly lost its brakes forcing the driver Dante P. Catriz, 27, married, and a resident of Amtuagan, Tubo, Abra to ram the vehicle on the left portion of the road hitting the mountain.
As a result, the passengers sustained multiple injuries on the different parts of their bodies and were rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital and Luba Rural Health Unit for medication.
The driver was brought to the Luba Municipal Police Station for documentation awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him before the Abra provincial prosecutor’s office.
