HINGYON, Ifugao – Five persons were hurt after their vehicle bumped a hillside portion of the Lagawe-Banaue road, particularly at sitio Mahlong, barangay O-ong, here recently.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, identified the victim as Yolana Buyog Gaddang, 52, married, housewife and a resident of Ibulao, Lagawe, Ifugao and her daughter , three nieces and granddaughter.
Initial police investigation showed that the vehicle driven by Gaddang was proceeding towards Banaeu town when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve causing the same to ram into the hillside portion of the road.
The victims were immediately rushed by responding police operatives to the Ifugao Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but they were subsequently transferred to the Medical Mission Group Hospital in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya for their medication and treatment.
The vehicle sustained heavy damages on its front portion and investigation is still underway on the cause of the accident.
