LUBUAGAN, Kalinga – Five people were injured in the morning of June 5, 2016 when a Tamaraw FX driven by James Kitan, 42, driver by profession and resident of Lubas, La Trinidad, Benguet collided with another Tamaraw FX driven by Samuel Rosito, 55, married, miner and resident at Mankayan, Benguet .
The incident happened along the Bontoc-Tabuk Road at Sitio Iyucan, Barangay Manangol, Lubuagan, Kalinga.
Joint personnel of the Lubuagan Municipal Police Station, the Bureau of Fire Protection, Kalinga Provincial Public Safety Company and the 3rd company Regional Public Safety Battalion responded to the site at about 8:45 AM of June 5, 2016.
Initial investigation disclosed that the Kitan was negotiating a sharp curve when he accidentally collided with the Tamaraw FX driven by Rosito coming from the opposite direction.
The passengers of Rosito, identified as Melinda Lugao Rosito, Malik Lugao, Shanine Puyao, all natives of Pasil, Kalinga and residents of Mankayan, Benguet sustained physical injuries, and also the passengers of Kitan, identified as Rita Foy-os Kitan, 38, married and Abigail Foy-os Kitan, 19 both residents of Lubas, La Trinidad, Benguet.
All passengers were brought to the Lubuagan District Hospital in Lubuagan, Kalinga by the responding personnel for medical treatment.
Both drivers were uninjured and their driver’s licenses were confiscated while the vehicles were impounded.
