TUBA, Benguet – A 5-year kindergarten pupil was found dead by his relatives in a ravine at sitio Payeo, Taloy Norte here Thursday afternoon.
Police authorities withheld the identity of the victim while a manhunt operation is still underway against the male suspect who happens to be the cousin of the victim’s mother.
She was said to be a kindergarten pupil of the Taloy Sur Elementary School and that her mother is reportedly working overseas.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and her companion were supposed to have been home at around 12 noon Thursday after coming from school but her relatives were surprised that the two never reached home prompting them to seek the help of the police.
Upon the conduct of a massive search, the victim was found sprawled dead in a ravine with her school bag and other personal belongings scattered around the road leading to their place.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team found cracks on the skull of the victim hat might have caused her death with various scratches on the different parts of her body. Further tests will be conducted on the different parts of her body to ascertain whether or not the victim had been sexually abused before being killed.
His supposed companion from school can no longer be located and is now the subject of a manhunt operation by concerned authorities to clarify questions on how the victim was killed.
