NATONIN, Mountain Province – Some five hundred individuals were able to benefit from the cnduct of a medical-dental mission at Poblacion here which was spearhead by the Bontoc General Hospital and fully supported by the Mountain Province Provincial Police office and the Mountain Province Police Spouses Association.
The medical-dental mission was conceptualized by Dr. Racquel Tannao S. Kanongkong to cater to the medical and dental needs of the people in the remote villages of the municipality and the same was supported by the MPPO headed by Senior Superintendent Allen S. Ocden and the MPPSA.
Among the services that were provided the beneficiaries who came from the 12 barangays of the municipality include medical consultation, dental services, Operation Tuli, and free haircut.
Vice Mayor Fernandez Lingayo expressed the gratitude of the municipal officials and the people of the town to the police and health authorities for initiating the conduct of the medical-dental mission in their place because residents wil have the chance to enjoy the delivery of quality services to them right at their doorsteps.
For his part, Ocden claimed the active participation of the residents in the said activity only shows the improving trust and confidence of the people to the PNP who continue to effectively and efficiently perform their mandated duties and responsibilities that extend even beyond providing social services to those who are in need of the same.
The combined effort of the various participating agencies both private and government and the participation of the community led to the success of the activity.
Ocden expressed his gratitude to the concerned stakeholders who contributed their time, effort and resources to ensure the successful conduct of the event giving special citations to the Bontoc General Hospital headed by Dr. Racquel Tannao S. Kanongkong and her team for the medical services and the medicines; Mountain Province Police Spouses Association who took charge of the Dental with the Dentists namely : Dr. Joshua Fronda and Dr. Glory B Angawa) and other medicines (from Dr. Mildred Kalang-ad), certificates, tarpaulin, bottled water and for their efforts in soliciting support from other members of the MPPSA who are living outside the Province; Mr. Alfredo Fomokao Jr. ( CI from MPSPC) and his team for the Operation Tuli; Natonin HRH headed by Dr. Agagon; The provincial government under the leadership of Governor Bonifacio C.Lacwasan Jr, for the usage of two provincial vehicles; BFP; AFP; and to those whose names were not mentioned who extended their services.
