BONTOC, Mountain Province – Fifty -two farmers underwent Training on Free Range Chicken Production and Management on October 10, 2023, at the municipal Capitol Auditorium.
The training initiated by the municipal government through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAg) aims to provide necessary knowledge and skills to the farmers on raising free-range chicken which is seen as a sustainable and income-generating livelihood.
Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., represented by Municipal Administrator Eric Fulangen, Sr., expressed high hopes that the newfound knowledge and skills of the farmers will contribute to the growth and prosperity of the local agricultural sector.
He added that the training represents a positive step towards a more robust and resilient farming community.
Meanwhile, Sangguniang Bayan member Benedict Odsey II urged the participants to put into practice the learning gained from the training for sustainable livelihood.
It is to be noted that the municipal government has consistently demonstrated its commitment to improving the livelihood of local farmers in all the barangays of the municipality.
